Foster Puppy Page
Keisha came to us at the end of April. She wasn't a very happy ridgeback when she first came. She has made great progress and was adopted and is now part of an absolutely wonderful family.
We are a foster home for NASAP (Northern Albert Society for Animal Protection).
NASAP exists to provide a no-kill solution to the problem of unwanted and homeless animals in the Northern Alberta area, thus working towards the long term goal of reducing the practice of euthanasia as a means of controlling the pet population.
We are proud to be associated with such an incredible organization.

This is Buddy - he is a lively Jack Russell Terrier who, with the right amount of exercise has become a lovable, attentive companion. He has found an awesome family to live with.
Maddie is an adorable Jack Russell. She was with us for only a short time before going to a very, very special home. She did show us what an incredibly lovable young lady she is.
This is King (above and left). He was quite hand shy and unruly when he first came to us. He has made remarkable progress. He quickly learned sit, stand, heel and come. His recall is virtually 100%. He can even finish - that is come to a sit in heel position. What is most endearing about King is his affectionate personality, his willingness to please and his love of his humans. He has not shown the slightest aggression towards humans or dogs - he's just one lovable big guy. King has gone to his forever home - he lives on an acreage in southern Alberta where he runs with the horses and goes hiking ion the mountains every week
This is Toby (left). He is a five year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. He has gone to a fine home and absolutely adores being with his humans. Toby is very lucky in his new home. He indulges in his hobbies of walking two or three times a day, fetching a stick/ball/frisbee, and swimming. In fact, he is part owner (along with his new humans) of a lakeside cottage.
This is Lobo (left). We think he is an Elk Hound/Lab cross, about one year old. He was a stray, picked up from the pound. He is really affectionate and loves being with humans and dogs. We don't need an alarm system with Lobo around, he is very vocal when someone comes to the door. He has gone to live with a really nice family - he is finally getting the love and respect that he deserves.
This is Dave, our new foster puppy. He is a black lab cross, a big boy, weighing in at about 115lbs. We believe him to be around one year old, he has some filling out to do. He is a good looking boy, his coat is very rich and shiny. He has been with us for just over two weeks and has learned a lot. He is well behaved on-leash. He has learned to walk at the same pace as his human and no longer tries to pull his human’s arm off. He recalls 100% of the time – sometimes taking longer to come back, it depends on what he is doing at the time. He is food motivated so very much open to bribery. He has just started to learn to go from front sit to heel sit and has surprised us at how quickly he is learning. He is house trained and crate trained. We have seen him try and exert some dominance over other dogs – we think it can be trained out of him. He is so affectionate and trusting with his humans – he rolls over and gives his belly, no hesitation. He does need a significant amount of exercise, mental and physical. For the person who is willing to spend time with Dave’s training and exercise, he is going to be a wonderful companion.
